As a qualitative scholar, my interests include inequalities, culture and identity, with a specific interest in food insecurity and gender. Particularly, I’m interested in the emotional and care-work of school cafeteria employees while feeding others’ children. As a member of the Interdisciplinary Center for Food Security at the University of Missouri for 4 years, I have been apart of several projects including the Missouri Hunger Atlas (2010 and 2013). I received my bachelors degree in Sociology from Beloit College in southern Wisconsin in 2008. I received my masters in Sociology at the University of Missouri in 2012 and expect to graduate in Spring 2015.
